During this season of Advent, the expectation has to do with eagerly waiting for something to happen, much like a child is filled with expectation as Christmas morning draws closer.

We know that children wait with expectation to see what they will receive Christmas morning, but what are the people of God waiting for, and what is the meaning behind the Candle of Expectation that was lit this morning? That is the question I will be answering in this morning’s message, and we can begin to answer this in this morning’s passage.
