The Faith that Sacrifices
We often have to remind ourselves that Christians are always either growing stronger or weaker in our relationship with God. The fact is we are either moving forward through active faith to the next level of intimacy and trust in our Lord, or backwards because our faith is in a state of erosion due to our lack of trust in God, trying to live our lives by our own wisdom, skills and desires.
As we will see in this morning's passage, God never gives up on growing our faith. The topic of this next section of Hebrews centers on the final test of Abraham's faith, revealing it for what it truly was: Strong and active, as demonstrated through his acting in obedience to God and being willing to sacrifice his son, Isaac.
